As technology continues to advance, we’re always researching new aesthetic options, and that’s why Dr. Afia Naqvi has proudly added the Subnovii Plasma Pen to our list of services.
In this article, Dr. Naqvi explains what this new treatment is and how it can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
What is the Subnovii Plasma Pen?
The Subnovii Plasma Pen is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment. Plasma skin resurfacing with the device can diminish the appearance of blemishes, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and tighten your skin.
How does plasma skin resurfacing work?
Plasma skin resurfacing, also referred to as fibroblasting or even fibroblast therapy, relies on a plasma stream of ionized gas to resurface your tissues and increase collagen production. If you’ve ever had a Vampire facial, you might be familiar with the term “plasma.”
However, the plasma used in a Vampire facial isn’t the same type of plasma used in plasma skin resurfacing. Plasma for the Vampire facial is derived from your own blood, but the Subnovii Plasma Pen simply refers to a stream of ionized gas.
What is ionized gas and how does it work?
During your treatment, the innovative plasma pen converts thermal energy into a stream of gas (the gas contains both oxygen and nitrogen). The stream of gas is concentrated enough to create micro-wounds on your skin. In response to these micro-wounds, your body shifts into healing mode. The natural healing response triggers fibroblast activity in your cells in your skin. All of the increased fibroblast activity stimulates collagen production and cell regeneration. As a result, your skin appears tiger, firmer, smoother, and more youthful.
Benefits of using the Subnovii Plasma Pen to combat wrinkles
After your treatment, you might see redness, flaking, or scabbing. This is normal after any plasma skin resurfacing. However, the Subnovii Plasma Pen features highly-controlled, low-frequency emissions. This means that your healing time is more predictable and shorter than treatments with other plasma devices.
Here are six more reasons to consider this treatment:
- Subnovvi Plasma Pen is FDA-cleared
- It’s a non-surgical alternative to the traditional facelift
- The treatment stimulates collagen
- It triggers tighter, more firm skin
- It diminishes the appearances of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles
- It improves skin tone
This treatment is performed in our office.
